Who Is the Vagina Whisperer?

My name is Shannon Pazier and I am a licensed, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist with a passion for all things below the waist!! Have you wanted to know how to control your bladder? How to stop sex from hurting? How to find and rock your G-Spot? How to produce a poop the envy of all your friends? For the past 18 years, I have connected and collaborated with women of all ages (truly — from 5 to 93!) to successfully resolve these supposed medical mysteries. Vagina Dialogues has grown out of a deep sense of gratitude to the many hundreds of women who have had the immense courage to entrust their care to me, sharing their often extremely discouraging and painful experiences trying to find solutions for their pelvic health challenges. Almost all have asked me in some form or another, “Why do we not talk about this stuff? Why is it so hard to find someone to help me?” Each of you has inspired me beyond words TO SPREAD THE WORD.

For those of you wanting to “sniff” me out a bit more (very understandable given the subject matter!) . . . . I am one of a rare few Washington natives — born, raised and living in and around Seattle all but 5 years of my life; and graduating from Mercer Island High School. I have a BA in Psychology from Occidental College, a MSW from the UW, and a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. I have worked with homeless, drug-addicted and incarcerated youth to reduce their risk of HIV transmission; pumped gas and changed tires and oil tanks in Yellowstone National Park; prevented the drowning of and coached 7 years of competitive swimmers; supported too many amazing men in the last months of their lives as they have lost their fight against AIDS; helped build houses in Guatemala with Habitat for Humanity; and created a comprehensive Pelvic Health program at St Joseph Medical Center. And now? While employed as Director of Pelvic Health at Flex Physical Therapy, I am raising 2 amazing boys — tween and teen — with my Colorado-Mountain-Man husband (who is also a PT and the love of my life) and manage to keep my sanity as a self-proclaimed hot yoga freak, attending my Church of Sweat at least 4 days a week. Phew! Aaaand enough about me . . . Let’s get to you!

What do leading medical providers in the field of pelvic health have to say?

Shannon is hands-down one of the most talented practitioners in the field of pelvic health. She brings deep compassion, vast breadth of knowledge, humor and joy to the hundreds upon hundreds of women who have benefited from her care. While Shannon has the skill set for ‘simpler’ urinary issues, she is my ‘go-to’ for partnering on complex issues because of her talent and training. Look no further for an expert on the topic of pelvic health!

Shannon is the consummate professional. She is always learning and always growing. She has a deep commitment to helping women with pelvic floor disorders and has changed the lives of so many of my patients. She works together with women helping them understand their bodies so they can heal deeply and return to more normal lives. I feel blessed to have her on our team of women caring for women and to call her my friend.
